Wrestl

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 25 August 2026

Wrestl is a pro-wrestling news, events, ratings and podcast website. This policy describes what data the site handles. It covers the website at wrestl.app; the Wrestl Android app has its own policy.

What we collect

  • Anonymous account. When you rate a show, we sign you in anonymously via Firebase Authentication. This creates a random account identifier. It is not linked to your name, email or any personal identifier, and you are never required to create an account or log in.
  • Optional Google sign-in. On the Profile page you can sign in with Google so your ratings stay with you across devices and browsers. If you do, Firebase Authentication stores your Google account's email address, basic profile information (your display name and profile picture) and an account identifier. We use these only to attach your ratings to your account and to show which account you're signed in as. Sign-in is entirely optional — rating works without it, and you can sign out or delete your account at any time.
  • Show ratings. Your half-star ratings are stored in Firebase Firestore, keyed to your account identifier, so your rating shows back to you and contributes to the community average. A rating record contains only: the account identifier, the show identifier (name + date), the star value and a timestamp.
  • On-device data. Podcast playback progress (so you can pick an episode back up) is stored only in your browser's local storage. It never leaves your device and is never uploaded.

What we do NOT collect

  • No analytics or usage tracking of our own.
  • No location, contacts or phone numbers.
  • No passwords. Signing in with Google never gives us your Google password — Google handles the sign-in and only tells us the account details listed above.
  • Aside from the advertising described below, nothing about you unless you rate a show or choose to sign in.

Advertising

We show ads through Google AdSense to support the site. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies and device/advertising identifiers to serve ads, cap how often you see them, and measure performance — and, where you've given consent, to personalise them. We don't receive your name or email through ads.

You can manage ad personalisation at myadcenter.google.com and read how Google uses data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Third-party services

  • Google AdSense — advertising (see above), covered by Google's privacy policy.
  • Google Firebase (Authentication and Firestore) — see Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
  • Vercel hosts the site and may process standard technical request logs (such as IP address and browser type) to serve and secure it — see vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.
  • Content sources. News headlines, podcasts, event schedules and match results are fetched from public sources — RSS feeds, Wikipedia and podcast feeds. The site only reads these; it sends them no data about you.

Data retention & deletion

If you haven't signed in, your ratings persist until you remove them (tap a rating to clear it). Because the anonymous identifier lives only in your browser, clearing your browser data disassociates you from your ratings.

If you've signed in with Google, your account and ratings persist until you delete them. You can delete your account and every rating you've submitted at any time:

  • On the site: Profile → Delete account. You'll be asked to confirm it's you, and the account and ratings are removed immediately.
  • By email: email wrestlcorp@gmail.com from the Google account you signed in with, subject "Delete my Wrestl account". We'll delete it within 30 days and confirm by reply.

Deleted ratings are removed permanently and can't be restored, even if you sign in again later.
